दोन क्या है?
दोन, बिहार के पश्चिमी चम्पारण ज़िले के रामनगर प्रखंड में स्थित एक खूबसूरत इलाका है। यह पूरा क्षेत्र वाल्मीकि टाइगर रिज़र्व के अंदर बसा हुआ है। यहाँ लगभग 24 से अधिक गाँव बसे हुए हैं, जिनकी कुल जनसंख्या करीब 40 से 50 हज़ार है।
प्राकृतिक सुंदरता
दोन चारों ओर से घने जंगलों, नदियों और पहाड़ों से घिरा हुआ है। यही कारण है कि इस जगह का नाम दोन पड़ा—ऐसा हमारे बुज़ुर्गों का कहना है। इस इलाके की प्राकृतिक छटा इसे और भी अद्वितीय बनाती है। यहाँ का जंगल हरियाली से भरा है, नदियाँ कल-कल बहती हैं और पहाड़ इसकी सुंदरता में चार चाँद लगाते हैं।
लोग और संस्कृति
दोन के लोग बेहद संत स्वभाव, ईमानदार और मेहनती होते हैं। कठिन परिस्थितियों के बावजूद वे अपनी मेहनत और सादगी के लिए जाने जाते हैं। गाँवों की आपसी एकजुटता और पारंपरिक संस्कृति आज भी यहाँ की सबसे बड़ी ताक़त है।
